Rice - 3 to 4 cups
Whole Urad dal-1 cup
Chana dal-1/2 cup
Methi seeds/Fenugreek-1/2 tsp
salt to taste
Wash and soak rice,urad dal.chana dal.methi seeds and poha.Soak them for overnight.When soaked remove water from them and grind to a fine paste.You can use mixie or wet grinder to grind this.
cover it and leave it overnight for ferment.Preferably fermenting the size of the batter increases.
Potatoes-2 nos(boiled and mashed)
Onions -1 no(chopped)
cumin seeds-1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder-2 pinch
Chilli powder-1 tsp
Garam masala powder-1/2 tsp
Salt to taste
Wash the potatoes and take tame in bowl.Add water and cook in a pressure cooker.Whenpotato is boiled eeled and mashed it.
Cut the onions into small pieces.
Heat a pan and ad oil to it.When oil is hot add the mustard seeds,cumin seeds fry them well.Now add the curry leaves and onions fry till transparents.Now add the turmeric powder,red chilli powder and garam masala powder and salt.Mix well.
Finally add the mashed potatoes mix well.
Transfer this to a bowl.
Method for Dosa:
Heat a dosa tawa.Take dosa batter into a bowl.Add salt to taste and water mix well.Take a ladle and mix the batter to check the consistency.If it is too thick add some water.
When the tawa is hot take a ladle full of batter and pour in the cnter of the tawa.Then immediately start spreading it in circular motion to get a thin layer.
Now add oil and spread this over the dosa.fry nicely till goden brown.Just befor removing add a ladle full of curry in the centre of the dosa and fold it.
Begore removing the dosa from the pan,make a slit from the center of the dosa.Start rolling it from one side to other end till you get a nice cone.Take a serving plate and seve hot with coconut chutney and sambar.
