Hi friends today i coming with Chalimidi.My mom always makes it for pujas/fasting.Usually chalimidi is two types one is pakam chalimidi and pachi chalimidi(Raw or uncooked chalimidi).For this we need:
Rice - 1 cup
Fresh grated coconut-1/8 cup
Pure Ghee-3 to 4 tbsp
Soak the rice in water for 7 hours.Drain the rice completely and leave it to dry for about 30 minutes.
Grind the soaked rice into fine powder.Sieve the powder to remove coaser grains.Grind the coarser grains and sieve again.The end powder should have pretty smooth texture.
Now take a bowl add to the grated coconut,sugar and ghee mix well till sugar will melt and the add rice flour.
Mix well to make a dough and make it balls.
Chalimidi is ready.
