Spinach / Palak Rice

Hi  Friends today i coming with Spinach rice.Its in Iron, fibre and spinach rice is one of the easy and healty recipe.Specially for the kids who doen't want to have green vegetables.For this recipe u need:-


Basmati rice- 3 cups
Spinach- 1 bunch (3 cups paste)
Onion-1 large (chopped)
Tomato-2 small(chopped)
Green Peas-1/2 cup
Green chillis-5 to 6 (acc to u r taste)
Caradamon-3 nos
Cloves-4 nos
Cinnamon sticks-3 nos
Bay leaf-3 nos
Star anise-1
Cumin seeds-1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder-1/2 tsp
Ginger/garlic paste-2 tsp
Oil-4 tbsp
Salt to taste
Water-spinach paste 3 cups +2 cups water


Wash and cut the spinach.
Heat 1 tsp oil in a pan add 3 green chillis and spinach , cook till all water goes away from spinach and grind into a smooth paste using a blender..Keep aside.
Heat 3 tbsp oil in a pan,add cinnamon,cloves,bay leaf , cumin seeds and caradomon, fry them for a minute.
Add green chillis and onions and fry till onions turn golden brown.
 Now add ginger/garilic paste fry for a minutes and add green peas fry for 2 minutes and now add  tomato pieces,turmeric powder and mix well cover and cook till tomatoes are done.

Now add spinach paste   let it cook for 2 to 3 minutes.Add rice fry for 3 minutes and pour2 cups of water ,put the salt per taste.

Close  the cooker and let it cook well.

Once the rice is all done serve with raitha.



It looks super good and yumm, love the color it adds to the recipe. Thanks for the recipe, I never tried making this rice. Soon will give it a try!
