Uppudu Roti (Rice Rava Upma)


Ingredients:-

Rice Rava-2 cups
Mustard seeds-2 tsp
Cumin Seeds-2 tsp
Moong Dal-1/2 cup
Channa dal-1/2 cup
Red Chillies-4  nos
Green Chillies-4nos
Curry lavs-fw
Hing-1 tsp
Salt to taste
Oil-5 tbsp
Water-3 to 4 cups



Method:-
Soak Channa dal and moong dal in water for 1 hour.Wash and clean.
Hat oil in a pressure cooker.when oil is hot add mustard seeds,cumin seeds,when it pops up add red chillis ,green chillies,fry till they change the color.
Now add hing,curry laves,washed moon dal ,channa dal fry for 5 minutes.
Now add water and salt to it mix well.Bring to boil.(Check the taste of the water.)
When water is boiling slowly add the rava to water and mix it continuously so it combines well with th water and doesn't from lumps.
Put the pressure cooker lid on,reduce hat to low cook it for 30 minutes.After 30 min, check rava is cooked and increase hat to high cook for 10 min.after turn off the flame.
(Put the pressure cooker lid on,and place the whistle.Increase heat and pressure cook till 3 to 4 whistles.Turn off the flame.)When its cool down u can cut into pieces.
When its very hot it won't come like pieces.
Serve with mango pickle or tomato pickle .

u know one interesting thing my mom side calls it talipa roti n in-laws side they said upudu pindi but what ever may be we love this dish n now i am missing it ,can u pass me the plate :)
