Mysore Bonda


Ingredients:-

Maida :1 cup
Rice Flour-1/4 cup
Cumin seeds-1/2 tsp
Ginger-1 tsp (chopped)
Green chillies-2tsp (chopped)
Onion-1 small (chopped)
Cooking Soda-1/2 tsp
Curd-To make the batter
Salt to taste
Oil- for deep frying


Method:-

Mix maida with rice flour,salt,cooking soda,chopped green chillies,chopped ginger and cumin seeds.
Add curd make it into a vada batter consistency.
Cover it withe a lid and keep aside for 2 hours.
After 2 hours now add chopped onions in the madia batter.mix well.
Heat oil for deep frying.
Wet your hand with water and take a lemon sized  the batter make round  balls.
Slowly drop in the hot oil.Fry them on low flame.
Fry the bondas till   golden brown color.
Remove bondas from oil and place on paper to remove excess oil.
Serve hot with coconut chutney or Potato curry for dosa..

Wow nice color and texture...Made this last weekend...famous Karnataka appetizer..but we dont add onions..instead we add small slices of coconut...wanna try adding onions this time :)
