Puffed Rice Upma (Murmura upma)

Puffed Rice-7 to 8 cups
Onion-1 no ( finely chopped)
Green chillis-3 nos(cut into 2 peces)
Turmeric powder-2 pinch


Mustard seeds-1/2 tsp
Cumin seeds-1/2tsp
Chana Dal-1/2tsp
Urad Dal-1/2tsp
Curry Leaves-6 nos
Hing-2 pinch
Salt to taste
Oil-6 tbsp

For Grinding Powder-

Roasted Chickpea -5 tbsp(putnala papu )
Roasted peanuts-3 tbsp
Cunin seeds-1 tbsp
Red chillis-5 nos(acc to ur taste)
Lime-1 no

Method of Preparation:-

First,take a big pot,Fill half od it with tap water and add puffed rice to the water.Because of lightweight,they will float.Using your hands push them under water for few seconds.Let them soak water.After 5 minutes, remove them from water by taking handfuls and squeeze the water slightly out of the soaked rice and keep it another bowl.

Now take a frying pan over medium heat, add cumin seeds,roasted chickpeas,roasted peanuts,red chillis fry for 5 minutes, lightly colour will change.

Now take this on the another plate and make it cool.
Now transfer all the frying items to jar and grind it to powder.

Now chop onion finely.
Heat oil in a pan,add all the popu ingredients mustard seeds,cumin seeds,chana dal.urad dal,green chillis,curry leaves,hing and now add choppes onions.

When onion becones transucent,add turmeric powder, soaked puffed rice and mix well.
Now add 3 tbsp grinding  powder to the puffed rice and salt to it.Mix well  and close the lid for 5 minutes.
Mix thoroughly and serve hot with a squeeze of lemon.

Note-left over grinding powder store this box in fridge. .next time u can use.
