Poha Upma ( Atukulu Upindi)

Hello bloggers,
   One of my friends ( pallavi) asked me about recipe of upma making with pooha. I learned this one from m my mom. Have a look and provide me ur valuable comments. This is one of the varities with pooha , i will be coming up with more later.

Atukulu (thick poha or beaten rice)-2 cup (use rice  cooker cup for measurement)
Split moong dal-1/2cup
dry red chillis-7 nos (acc ur taste)
Curry leaves-6 mos
Mustard seeds- 1/2 tsp
Cumin-1/2 tsp
Turmiric-1 pinch
Hing-2 pinch
Salt to taste
Oil-3 tbsp

First wash poha gently, soak for 10  minutes and drain the water and keep it aside.Soak the moong dal for 30 minutes.

Heat oil in a pan,when oil is hot, add musard seeds and let them splutter and add cumin,chillis,hing , curry leaves.

Clean the moong dal and add to the pan and fry 2 to 3 minutes.

Now add 1 cup  of water and salt to it . Let it boil.

When it is boiling  add the soaked poha  mix  to it and close the lid cook it for 5 minutes.

Now  open the lid  stir gently,switchoff the stove.

Serve hot with any type of pickle.
