Spicy or Khara Paniyaram / Gundponglu /
Ingredients:-
Left over Dosa Batter:- 2 cups (How make dosa batter)
Onion-1 (chopped)
Green Chillies-3 nos (finely chopped)
Soaked Channa Dal-2 tbsp
Mustard Seeds-2 tsp
Coriander leaves-1 tbsp
Salt to taste
Method:-
Dry roast the mustard seeds with out oil ,when pops up switch off the flame.
Take 2 cups of the batter in a bowl.Add the onions,green chillies,soaked channa dal,coriander leaves,salt and dry roasted mustard seeds mix well.
Add little water if the batter is too thick.The batter should be of idli batter should be pouring consistency.
Heat the paniyaram pan / gundponglu tava .Add a drops of oil in each hole.Pour 2 tbsp of batter into each hole and cook over medium low heat until the edges turns golden brown.
Turn over and cook for a two minutes.
Remove and serve hot with tomato chutney,coconut chutney or chutney powder.
