Mustard Masala Fish
Ingredients:-
Marinate:-
Tilapia fish-1 fish (cleaned and cut into pieces)
Turmeric powder-1/2 tsp
Salt -1/2 tsp
Fish Masala
Onions-2 small size(chopped)
Tomato-1 nos (chopped)
Garlic-6 nos cloves
Ginger -small pieces
Mustard seeds-3 tbsp
Cumin seeds-1 tbsp
Red chillies-5 nos or to taste
Turmeric powder-1/2 tsp
Salt to taste
Mustard oil-3 tbsp
Coriander leaves-for garnishing
Method:-
Clean the fish pieces.
Marinate fish for 10 to 15 minutes with turmeric powder and salt .
In a grinder or blender,grind into a paste of onions,garlic,red chillies,cumin seeds,mustard seeds.
Heat mustard oil in a pan and shallow fry the fish pieces for 1 minutes on each side.Remove in a plate ,keep it aside.
In the same oil,add ground paste,salt and turmeric powder mix well, stir fry till the turns brown or until the oil separates from the mixture.
Now add the chopped tomatoes mix well.Cover and cook till the tomato is smashed.When tomato is cooked fry for 5 minutes.
Now add 2 to 3 cups of water cook for 10 minutes .
Then add fish pieces gently stir .Cover and cook for 5 to 7 minutes.
Garnish with coriander leaves.
Serve hot with rice.

fantastic recipe,I love fish cooked in mustard oil and in ground mustard,used to savor this a lot in west bengal.Loved the step by step process too. BTW is that Tilapia in the picture? We get Tilapia fillets here,where do you buy yours from?
