Hi Friends today i coming with Rava Payasam. This is very creamy and the tasty should like a koya .This recipe from my mom.She make this i like very much.It is a light sweetened hot drink made form milk with very little rice rava.
Ingredients:-
Rice - 2 cups
Rice rava-1 cup
Sugar-1 cup
Milk-5 to 6 cups
salt-1/2 tsp
Method:-
Wash the rice and drain in a colander for 20 minutes.
Heat the pan dry roast the rice till its golden brown color.Stir continuously otherwise it will be burn.
When its golden color.Switch of the flame ,let it cool down.
when its cool down, now smooth coarsely powder the rice in a blander or food processor.Work in batches till the rice resembles bread crumbs and then sieve it, to filter out rava.(For this kheer u need rice like very small pieces of rava). The rave looks should like this way..
In a bowl add 1 cup of rava and 1 cup of sugar,1/2tspof salt mix well keep it aside.
Boil milk in wide pan, when it boiling add the rava and sugar mix to the milk stirring continuously.Stir continuously other wise lumps will form.
Let rava mixture cook in low flame, stir well. Now cook completely for 20 to 25 minutes stirring continuously so that it does not stick to the pan.
when rava cooked it became thick and its done.Switch of the flame.(Add milk according to the thickness you like )
This good for children and the tasty should like a kova /mawa.
Serve hot or cold.
