Ingredients:-
Split Roasted Gram / Roasted channa dal- 1 cups
Dry Red Chilies-7 nos
Cumin Seeds-2 tbsp
Coriander Seeds-2 tbsp
Curry Leaves-1/2 cup
Asafoetida- 1 tbsp
Salt to taste
Oil-1 tsp
Method:-
In a pan dry roast cumin seeds,coriander seeds toss them on medium heat for 2-3 mt.
Next drizzle some oil in the vessel,add the dry red chillies ,keep it aside.
Now add the channa dal fry for 3 to 4 minutes,add asafoetida and fry for light brown color.Mix all the red chillies mix all mitures and add salt.
In a same add curry leaves fry for 3 to 4 minutes.remove and keep it aside.
Once cool,Now make fine powder of the channa dal in a coffee grinder or blender.Sieve the channa dal powder and if desire grind once again and make a very fine powder.Mix well .
Store in an air-tight container.
Serve hot with idly or white steamed rice and a oil or ghee.
Note: You can increase or decrease the red chillies according to your spice level.
Looks spicy podi..perfect with idli.
