Ingredients:-
Dondakaya / Tindora-2 cups
Coriander Seeds-1 tsp
Cumin Seeds-1 tsp
Green chillies-6 nos (cut into 2 pieces) (acc to ur taste)
Tamarind-a lemon sized ball
Turmeric powder-1/2 tsp
Salt to taste
For Seasoning :-
Mustard seeds-1 tsp
Red chillies-2 nos
Urad dal-1 tsp
Channa dal-1 tsp
Hing-1/2 tsp
Curry leaves-few
Oil- 2 tbsp
Method:-
Soak tamarind in a water.Squeeze the tamarind using your fingers.Take out the pulp.Use the tick puree extracted as required .
Wash and clean tindora and cut them into small pieces.
Heat oil in a pan add coriander seeds and cumin seeds fry for 3 mins and then add green chillies fry till brown color,and now add the tindora pieces ,turmeric powder and salt mix well.Cook on slow flame for 10 mins with closed lid.Tindora will little bit change the color and till fully cooked.
After cooling grind the tinder pieces,green chillies and add tamarind paste and grind to a coarse paste.If it is difficult to grind then add very little water and blend.
In a pan add oil for seasoning add mustards seeds when they splutter add urad dal,red chillies curry leaves and hing fry for 1 min now add the grounded paste and mix well and fry for 9 to 10 minutes.
Fry till the oil come out .Switch the flame off.
Serve with hot rice...
Very tasty and tempting chutney. Love to try it out with dosa.
