Fresh Turmeric Masala Gravy / Pachi Paspu Besaru

              

                     Hi friends today i coming with very new recipe Fresh Turmeric Root Masala gravy.This is very healthy and tasty.This recipe from my mom.  
 

            Turmeric has antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties and has been used in Ayurvedic medicine for centuries.The roots of the turmeric plant contains curcumin an anti-oxidant that research points to fighting cancer.Turmeric powder(used in many curries)is formed by drying the roots of turmeric plant)ginger family) and grinding them to a powder.
    
                If these roots are available to you in Indian/Asian grocery stores(they resemble ginger,but are less bulbous),this is a simple,tasty recipe.

Ingredients:-

Fresh Turmeric Roots-2 cups (cut into small pieces)
Mustard Seed-2 tsp
Jeera Seeds-4 tbsp
Garlic pods-20 nos
Red chillies-10 nos (acc to ur taste)
Dry Mangos-6 nos
Salt to taste
Oil-5 to 6 tbsp

Method:-
First wash and chop into  small pieces.Keep it aside.

Boil the dry mangoes in water.
Grind fresh turmeric pieces into smooth paste.Keep it aside.
Now grind cumin seeds,mustard seeds,red chillies and garlic and add little water and gring into paste. Keep it aside.
Heat oil in a pan.When oil is hot add the grinded masala paste and fry it until the raw smell goes away and oil will separate,color will change.
Now add boiled dry mangoes and grind ed fresh turmeric paste mix well and add salt and water.Mix well.Bring to boil for 30 to 45 minutes.cook till the raw small goes away.
Remove from the stove.

Serve with hot rice.

  6. THis absolutely a new dish to me...I even never heard of this kind of dish...We take the raw turmeric alongwith jaggery thats all...but never thought that a gravy can also be made out of that...thanks for sharing this nice recipe....
