Cabbage Pesarapappu Koora / Cabbage Moong Dal Fry

Ingredients:-

Cabbage- 4 cups (chopped)
Yellow Moong Dal - 1/2 cup (cook till the dal is soft and not mushy
Mustard Seeds-1 tsp
Cumin Seeds-1/2 tsp
Red Chillies-3 nis (tear,de seed)
Hing-1/2 tsp
Garlic-3 nos (pieces) (optional)
Curry leaves-few
Salt to taste
Oil-2 tsp

Method:-

Par-boil cabbage with salt to taste till three fourth cooked  drain (microwave or cooker). Keep it aside



Cook the dal separately by adding water.Cook it on medium flame,till it is slightly broken.Do not allow the dal to become completely mash.Drain the water completely and keep the water do not discard.(with that water we can make rasam or dal)

 Heat oil in a cooking vessel,add the mustard seeds and let them splutter. Add the cumin seeds,red chillies,garlic,hing and curry leaves  and saute for few seconds.

Add the cooked cabbage and moong dal ,salt to taste combine.

Stir fry for a few minutes till the flavors blend and the cabbage retains a bit of crunch.

Serve with rice,rasam and appadams.

Left over moong dal water Rasam:-

For u need:-

 Left over Moong dal water-2 cups
Tomato-1 nos (chopped)
Mustard Seeds-1/2 tsp
Cumin Seeds-1.2 tsp
Green Chillies-2 nos
Red Chillies-1 nos
Curry leaves-few
Hing-1/2 tsp
Tamarind pulp-1 tsp 
Salt to taste
Oil-1 tsp
Coriander leaves-few



Method:-

Heat oil in wok,add mustard seeds,when it splutters,add cumin seeds,red chillies,green chillies,hing and curry leaves saute for a few minutes,then add the tomatoes and salt .

Cook till the tomatoes mash.Then add the moong dal water,tamarind pulp and salt mix together.

Bring to boil for 5 minutes.Garnish with coriander leaves.

Serve with rice.
